Ok new release, changes:

  • Trees added in again, now less peformance hungry and grow where they should
  • made worlds look nicer
  • trees now displaying in area view (see screens)
  • started the inventory work

OK new release is out, new stuff:

  • Temperature
  • Land smoothing (makes much nicer looking maps)
  • Basic map editor (only raising and lowering water level)
  • Enter able map squares (hit . to enter and , to exit)
  • Basic console help system (press ‘h’ to access it)

The code has now finally been split up into different modules. In the future I aim to release modules for everything to allow for more ease of modification.

Ok, I got everthing fixed up a couple of days ago so I really should have released then but i’ve been fiddling :D

New things since last release:

  • Implemented z coordinate (Up down)
  • Mountains
  • Oceans (with depths)
  • Soil quality
  • grass that grows (sort of)
  • Trees & forests that grow
  • Openable map (Hit ‘m’)
  • World saving (No loading yet)
  • Cleaned and re-wrote quite a bit of the code. (More efficient now)

I have taken out ice until temp is in (hopefully soon) although the top of mountains still have ’snow’ on them :D
